Allen Bradley 1734-AENTR

It is mainly used to connect point I/O racks to the central controller in the Ethernet /IP network and supports data exchange between controllers and field devices such as actuators and sensors in industrial automation systems. The 1734 series modules offer network topology compatibility and efficient data transmission, and are thus widely used in manufacturing automation.

Core Functions

The core function of the Allen Bradley 1734-AENTR is to enable a stable connection of a series of remote I/O modules to an industrial Ethernet network. It does not directly read sensors or drive valves; instead, it collects information from all I/O modules and transmits it to the main PLC via Ethernet cable. The modules communicate using the EtherNet/IP protocol and are equipped with two switching ports to create a device-level ring network. When this ring network is functioning correctly, data can be transmitted simultaneously in both directions.

Power Supply and Installation

The Allen Bradley 1734-AENTR requires an external 24VDC power supply for enhanced safety. It can be vertically mounted on the leftmost DIN rail of the POINT I/O system, serving as the network interface to the main controller. Operators can contact Hannett at any time for any questions.

IP Address Configuration

Static IPs are the default recommended configuration. The address remains unchanged after a power outage, ensuring stable communication. It offers higher security. Dynamic IPs are suitable for specific scenarios, but address changes may cause communication errors, so technicians need to exercise caution during operation.

Precautions 

Allen Bradley 1734-AENTR must be located on the far left of the POINT I/O rack as the network entry point for the entire I/O system. Category 5 or 6 twisted-pair cables should be used to ensure stable signal transmission and prevent production process interruption. It is recommended to use a static IP address, as a dynamic IP address may cause communication interruption. This requires specialized technical knowledge.
